The Australian Communications and Media Authority has ordered internet providers to block access to 12 unlicensed gambling platforms. The new restriction targets operators without local licenses to reduce illegal online betting activity.
Updated Blocklist and Enforcement
The latest compliance measure covers 7Signs, ChromaBet, Donbet, Duospin, Freshbet, Slots Gem, Jacks Club, Lucky Start, Spinrise, Vinyl Casino, Wildsino, and Pointsbetz. Network operators must now restrict user access to these domains as part of ongoing regulatory oversight.Advertising and Market Rules
Additional advertising rules will take effect in January 2027. These measures will restrict gambling promotions across television, radio, and digital channels. Industry data shows that Australian players spend approximately $2.7 billion each year on unlicensed platforms. The regulated segment of the market has contracted from 74 percent in 2021 to 64 percent today.Domain restrictions face limitations as operators frequently register new web addresses and redirect users through social networks and streaming services. Since 2019, authorities have blocked 1,751 gambling websites across the country. Enhanced controls introduced in 2017 have led more than 230 operators to exit the Australian market.
