Tim Miller, the executive director for policy and research at the UK Gambling Commission, will leave the regulator in September. The announcement marks the end of his ten-year tenure, which began in 2016.
Miller stated on LinkedIn that he plans to work for himself in an international capacity. His new role will involve advising governments and organizations focused on developing regulated markets outside the UK sector. The commission confirmed he remains in his current position until his departure in September.
Regulatory Contributions
During his time at the commission, Miller led the research function and managed several policy initiatives. He oversaw the launch of the Gambling Survey for Great Britain and guided the implementation of the Gambling Act review. His work included reforms regarding age verification, financial vulnerability checks, remote game design, and direct marketing rules.
Sarah Gardner, the interim chief executive, thanked Miller for his service. She noted that he provided significant contributions to gambling regulation over the last decade. Miller’s exit follows other senior changes, including the departure of CEO Andrew Rhodes in February.
